New York Fashion Week Part 4

Alexander Wang

Fearless sports as inspiration for a fearless collection. Inspired by motocross & race cars, Alexander W. presented his famous urban looks in combination with colors like orange, white, black & blue. It's all about "mini" size skirts all the way to bermudas.

White over white, an absolutely trend for S/S.
Did you paid attention to those pointy stilettos?

Monique Lhuillier

Because of collections like these, Monique is one of the chosen to dress celebrities, models, etc., to red carpet events. & yes, color blocking stills on for S/S.
The gowns are to die for! Monique used fabrics like chiffon, leather, tulle & jersey & as you can see white, black, blue & yellow are the S/S colors for next year.
Part of her success comes from how she plays with silhouttes , your body can't seem wrong with one of her creations.

Prabal Gurung

**Confession alert with a little bit of shame**, I had NO idea who was Prabal Gurung 'til this fashion week, yes ... i have to read more. Then i realized he doesn't have a long career, he presented his first collection at 2009, so after knowing that i felt relieved.

This NYFW doesn't has just the colorblocking as a trend; the sporty & athletic look is THE TREND as you can see with the Alexander Wang's collection & with Prabal's collection.
In this case, the collection is full of delicate details. It's provocative.

I love, love, LOVE the turquoise short & jacket. Silk fabric (in many derivations) was the major chosen for the collection.

New York Fashion Week Part 3

Jill Stuart

Jill Stuart showed her collection, at the Lincoln Center, with simple pastels dresses, pants & tops inspired by bird songs. I love the contrast between pastels & metallic shoes & how were managed the final looks (hair and makeup) of the models, very natural & carefree, perfect for spring.

Carlos Campos

The Honduran designer, presented his spring/summer 2012 collection at the Milk Studios. I was very pleased about the comments on twitter, blogs & tumblr were people told how Carlos is the  perfect men designer who's not afraid to use colors.

Without doubt he's making his name at New York by how talented he is.
His proposal for spring/summer is based on blue shades & blue accents

AND THE SHOES! Love them!!

Christian Siriano

Who doesn't remember this Project Runway winner? The collection showed on Saturday at Eyebeam was dramatic & spectacular. Colors like lime, orange & lemon took the runway with 38 looks in company of dresses, skirts & pants. Who thought jersey t-shirts couldn't look so chic? Let me remind you he's only 25 years old. His career is growing each day as his creativity & talent.

These were my favorite looks from the runway:

New York Fashion Week Part 2

I probably should be studying right now, ughh... guess school can't wait?

By this time maybe i have an overdose of fashion & i'm loving it.

The Row

Since the beginning of the label, truly representative of the Olsen's style, I've always been expecting chic & exclusive designs, fulled  of the New York air with a touch of youth. That's exactly what this collection is about. White & breezy pants, flat,s tunics, chiffon, minimal & weightless, that's The Row.

As Mary-Kate said:“We wanted something floating and angelic, but also to have things that made a sound.”The aural element came from the clink and swish of the densely embroidered shell pieces—a shift, a cutaway bustier, and a bag encrusted with mother-of-pearl paillettes inspired “by Nick Cave’s Sound Suits,” Ashley told.

Jason Wu

Incredible, beautiful, wearable, stunning, elegant & classic. A high-light collection we all wanted to see.  Jason Wu is a designer who respects women body & design having our bodies in mind.
The simplicity but well done assembled collection represents every girl's dream with pop art color dresses.

New York Fashion Week Part 1

I'm going crazy about Fashion Week! I wish i could be at New York right now **sniff*, but to all of us who couldn't attend the runway shows & had to stay hours & hours at YOUTUBE or looking pictures on blogs/magazines websites, etc., I'm going to give you a summary of what happened a couple of days ago.

BCBGMAXAZRIA

One of my favorite labels, there's always something vibrant on the collections. If you look over & go back to the pass you'll see this label is know for their aesthetic and clean cuts. For Spring/Summer 2012 the label wants you to have fun, play with dresses, feel the heat of the streets while you're dress up for whatever the day brings you.
Tribal dresses, shoes, details & movement, that's all we need for spring.
For the record, how beautiful does Arizona Muse looks?

Rebecca Taylor

My favorite so far. The collection is chic, feminine, flirty & designed for modern women.
Say no more, look at it:

These two looks are my favorite. I'm gonna try to combine gray & gold. Obsession!!

Luca Luca

Raul Melgoza, son of Mexican immigrants & designer for Luca Luca, took 33 looks to the runway. Short dresses, pants & jackets, one of the most feminine shows of the season with white & black combinations, blues, chiffon & silk.
-"This collection is inspired more than anything in the sensuality and femininity, with details such as buttons that open when you walk. Sexy, without losing their femininity".
The inspiration for this year were all things that live underwater and have luminescent colors, but contrasted with subdued tonesThese are pieces thatwomen can wear to work and then added an accessory, and go to another commitment in the night " - Told the designer.
